Romo: Wade's BYE weeks are harder than Parcells'

By Calvin Watkins

IRVING -- There is this perception that when Bill Parcells was the Cowboys' coach that he grinded the players during bye weeks.

Well, quarterback Tony Romo would contend that's not the case.

The Cowboys had one of their harder practices in some time on Wednesday and Romo said he expects the same on Thursday, the last practice of the week.

Dallas is 2-0 under Phillips in games following byes.

"I don't know the secret to it," Romo said before practice Thursday. "Wade does a good job of working you throughout the bye week, more than people know. We work harder under Wade in the bye week than we did under Bill. I think that maybe that's a benefit for our team in the sense that guys know there's no slippage when they come back and that's a positive."
