Curious Cowboy Signings
This one’s truly curious.

The Cowboys signing of left guard Kyle Kosier and the $5 million signing bonus they gave him makes it very possible that Larry Allen has played his last game as a Cowboy. Kosier can play other spots in the offensive line including tackle which is the Cowboys major weakness.
But I saw Kosier play tackle last year in a relief role. Having watched Pettiti and Tucker play tackle last year and then watching Kosier suggested to me that the 3 of them could fill the 3 lead roles in the ABC series Lost. Kosier will not be a tackle here. And you don’t give anyone 5 years and $15 million to be a backup guard.
The other Cowboy signing yesterday, of OL Andre Geroud to a 1 year $1.5 million contract is incredibly curious. For most of his stay here he’s been regarded as a Giant disappointment. Now there’s a suggestion that he could be the starting center. But if that’s true, why give him only a 1 year contract?
If he plays well he bolts to free agency. But if he’s not the starting center, why give him a $1.5 million to be a backup?
