Some Norm thoughts and Julius trade talk

We reported earlier that the Cowboys were very interested in Lawrence Mulroney, and now Len Pasquerrelli says the Cowboys and Jets talked trade for Julius Jones. When I asked Jerry about it directly, he tapped danced around it. This could have brought up a couple of scenerios. They could have drafted Carpenter at 18, and if they traded Julius for the Jets #29, they gotten someone like Joseph Addai or LenDale White. Or maybe the Cowboys take Mulroney at #18, and then trade Julius to the Jets for one of their late 1st or early 2nds and taken a LB or OL there.
I don’t think the Cowboys are looking to get rid of Julius Jones, but they might have spotted a runner or two who they think might have been an upgrade. I personally talked to a lot of people who think Mulroney is going to be a star. I think Deangelo Williams and Addai could be stars. The Cowboys probably still question Julius durability, and he still has some holes in his game that he doesn’t do very well. Especially for the type of workhorse back that Parcells loves. This shows you how constantly the draft is changing, and how you go through 200 different scenerios throughout the day. But I like the Cowboys draft, because every player they took went right around where he should have gone or earlier. That’s always a good sign.
