Pat Sumerrall on the Ticket

Recap by TrickBlue from a sports forum:

-Sumerrall:
-Just know one thing about Bill Parcells, everything he says is well thought out and calculated. You aren't going to throw him off with a question. I understand how he got frustrated with the same TO questions over and over again. If he doesn't practice, he won't play.
-Bill really loves the sparring sessions. It's nothing new, but it is new to the Dallas area. Some of his best friends are the media from the NY and NE area.
-The scrutiny in Dallas, including NY, is more more thorough than anywhere else in the NFL. Chan Gailey is a good friend of mine and it nearly destroyed him, likewise with Campo, even though he had been here. Bill was surprised by how intense the focus is on the Cowboys. There is nothing else close to it in the NFL.
-If the decision had been left totally up to Bill, TO would NOT have been here. I know that. Key would still be here. Bill realizes it is a collective thing as far as personnel decisions go though. If there had been one vote (his), he would have said no.
-Bill has never discussed how long he will keep coaching here with me, as well as I know him. He's a football coach and as long as he continues to enjoy it he will stay. He's a lifer when it comes to coaching.
-This will be Bill's last head coaching job. He knows that and I think that scares him. It is in his blood like broadcasting is still in mine
