Romo is the unquestioned starter going into next season

USATODAY Inside Slant

Romo is the unquestioned starter going into next season. He proved he has a chance to be the team's long-term answer at quarterback. He is mobile. He is accurate and he has a quick release. What the Cowboys must reconcile is the difference in his play following the 4-1 start. He wasn't the reason the Cowboys ended the season with two wins in the last six games, but he was part of it as his fundamentals declined as did his focus. Mentally, he also must find a way to get over that missed snap in Seattle. If he does, it will make him a stronger quarterback. If he can't, it could haunt him for the rest of his career. Romo has a chance to be good, but the Cowboys still don't know the final answer. Therefore, they will bring in a veteran to back him up and help them win games if Romo falters. Bledsoe will not be back. Baker is a project.
