TIDBIT: Former Giants quarterback Phil Simms hasn't spoken to Parcells about whether the Cowboys' coach will step down or not. But Simms thinks Parcells should retire once and for all.
"My gosh, step back and enjoy it," Simms said of his former coach. "That's just my opinion."
Mine, too. There really isn't much for Parcells to gain by coming back. I don't believe the Cowboys are a Super Bowl-caliber team, even with another year for quarterback Tony Romo to develop. So why should Parcells subject himself to the grind that has him looking so burned out every time you see him on the sideline?
Parcells is going to the Hall of Fame one day, so why not step away and chill while there's still time to enjoy life?
