RECAP: Spears on GAC

He says he knows a lot more is expected of him as a former first round pick, and that he understands fans wanting more. He also said he had no vendetta against Bill and it's not personal; it's just that he thinks the new scheme will be better for what he does best.
He did say that one reason he thought the defense tanked at the end of the season was that we were so predictable. He used the Colts example of one game where they played a different style, and beat the best team in football. But then we went right back to being stationary. He said he went to the Superbowl, and even players from other teams were asking him why the Cowboys never moved around much and were so predictable.
Galloway said he isn't much for excuses, and in the past has hammered Spears a little bit, but he had to admit that even some coaches at Valley Ranch believed Bill was too stubborn and slow to change a D that had sprung a leak.
IMO, while there was a slight bit of a whining tone to Spears' voice, it also sounded like he didn't blame Bill personally so much as that a scheme that didn't suit his strengths, which as he pointed out was slanting and coming off the edge in college.
I don't expect this to change anyone's opinion on Spears, but I thought I'd post it.
