DMN Blog: Nickel and dime for Newman?
Wade Phillips said OLB Greg Ellis and CB Terence Newman both made "progress" during today's practice. Ellis participated in some individual drills, and Newman did some team work and played some in the nickel package.
Phillips left open the possibility that Ellis and Newman would be game-time decisions in Miami. Newman might play in nickel and dime situations, where he covers slot receivers.
"It depends on which percentage he is, I guess," Phillips said. "You want him to be full speed, but if he can help you in certain areas, you have to consider it."
