DMN Blog: Offense is explosive, but can it be consistent?
Jason Garrett's guys eliminated any doubt that they were capable of lighting up scoreboards by hanging 45 points on the Giants last week. There's talk in the locker room about making that type of performance routine.
Tony Romo wisely backs away from this kind of boasting. He knows the Cowboys first have to prove that they can be productive on a regular basis. An efficient effort against a Dolphins D headlined by Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas would be a big step.
It's silly to expect the Cowboys to crank out 45 points per week, no matter what T.O. says. But 30 per week could certainly be within reach. That would be an improvement of slightly under 3.5 points from last season, which would be logical progress for Romo.
