FWST Blog: Around the Cowboys locker room today
Some notables from the Cowboys locker room on Wednesday ...
* Linebacker Kevin Burnett doesn't sound too optimistic about his chances of playing against the Giants on Sunday. He said he's been cleared to play, but it all depends on how he feels. Too bad. He was easily having his best camp to date, and it was the first time as a Cowboy he had been injury free. Don't be too stunned if this injury lingers into Week 2, too.
* Players are expecting defensive back Terence Newman to play against the Giants.
* None of the players expects linebacker Greg Ellis to be back. One player threw out mid-season as a possible return for Ellis.
* And, oh by the way, Terrell Owens admitted to having attended a dog fight when he was a kid. It was one of the many, many things Owens covered in his 30 minute chat with reporters on Wednesday.
* Rookie seventh round pick Courtney Brown said he doesn't expect to be moved back to cornerback. He was moved to safety during training camp after he played exclusively at cornerback while at Cal-Poly San Louis Obispo.
