DMN Blog: "We are what we are"

Cowboys QB Tony Romo didn't say that exactly, but the old Bill Parcells ethos certainly bubbled to the surface when he said that his team's overall success will be based on the level of consistency it can achieve.

"I said before – You can lose any given week and you can win any given week," Romo said. "It’s just, 'you are what you are,' consistency-wise. At the end of the year, if we’re 13-3, then we’re a 13-3 team. If we’re 8-8, we’re an 8-8 team."

Romo also continued to back his defense, at pretty tough hour for that unit, in saying again that Sunday's problems won't be lasting if the Cowboys don't let them be.

"I don’t care what defense it is, you’re gonna have games where you give up points," Romo said. "That’s a really, really good offensive unit there. That’s a matchup problem, they have a talented player at every position. And they have a guy like (Tom) Brady who makes it very, very difficult.

"I don’t think we’ll be facing very many offenses like that, if any. We were still there late in the game, we had a chance."
