Show T.O. The Money!

Source: BrownMagic's Blog

As Terrell Owens enters the last year of his 3yr/$25 Million contract, several other Cowboys are being rewarded for their on the field performance. Flozell Adams, Marion Barber and Terence Newman all received lucrative contracts from owner Jerry Jones. It's about time Jerry shows T.O. the money, again. Just look at other NFL receivers that signed contracts this offseason.

1. Larry Fitzgerald- 24yrs old, signed a 4yr/$40 million contract with Cardinals

2. Bernard Berrian- 27yrs old, signed a 6yr/$42 million contract with Vikings

3. Javon Walker- 29yrs old, signed a 6yr/$55 million contract with Raiders

4. Randy Moss- 31yrs old, signed a 3yr/$27 million contract with Patriots

Terrell Owens is definitely as good, if not better, than any of those receivers. His age (34) may put some of you off but remember, Owens is coming off one of his best seasons in which he produced 81 receptions, 1,355 yards and 15 touchdowns. The Cowboys '08 success is dependant on Owens being on the field, healthy and happy. Even though Owens has publicly stated he has no problems with his current contract situation, and is confident Jerry will get a deal done sometime, why wait? Owens is still a dominant receiver in the NFL, and wants to remain a Cowboy. Besides, what other option does Jerry have? The Bengals are not letting Chad Johnson go, the same goes for Roy Williams and Anquan Boldin. Even if any of these receivers were available, what does Jerry have to offer? It's looking like re-signing Owens is the Cowboys best option at this point. Sure, it would be nice to get a young, dominant, proven NFL receiver, but they don't exactly grow on trees. The Cowboys definitely don't have any others on their roster. So please Jerry, show T.O. the money!
