Cowboys' Felix Jones running like a cat

By GEORGE RIBA / WFAA-TV

Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones has been turning heads ever since his debut in Cleveland last month.

"He sets it up," says Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones. "He sees the cars on the highway."

That highway has been more like a freeway.

"We're in a great situation," Felix Jones says. "To be behind those guys, it's pretty much find a lane and hit it full speed."

His 60-yard run in week three is the longest run for a touchdown by any rookie in the league this season.

"Marion (Barber) wears 'em down and Felix runs around them," says fullback Deon Anderson. "That's what it is, it's good. It makes my job a lot easier."

"It's a good combination, it works well," says head coach Wade Phillips. "We got Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside, I guess.

"We have rotation where we want to get him in on certain drives, but then we also want to get him in on certain plays and we also want to spell Marion a little bit, so it's going to be a little bit random at times," says offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.

In college at Arkansas, Jones was used as a compliment to Darren McFadden, padding the scoreboard with style points, but it's a different game now.

"Style points, it's not too easy," Jones says. "We just try to do what we can just to make sure we pull off the win."

Jones does more than just provide style points.

Take his work returning kickoffs. He returned a kick 98-yards for a touchdown against the Eagles and is averaging 27.5 yards a return.

If you add up his rushing yardage, his kick off returns and his catches, he has already accounted for 666 yards. That's more than anybody else on the team.
