Cowboys Stadium christened

Hundreds gathered for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium on Wednesday.

Jerry Jones and other members of the Dallas Cowboys leadership team gathered for the ceremony, along with city officials, to christen the stadium.

Those in attendance were able to watch the glass retractable end zone doors open -- an event that allowed participants to feel the full effect of sitting inside the state-of-the-art stadium.

The $1.1 billion stadium was designed by Dallas-based HKS Inc. Architecture. The Dallas office of Manhattan Construction was the general contractor. Houston-based Walter P. Moore was the structural engineer.
