ESPNDallas: Notes from Cowboys practice on Friday

By: Calvin Watkins

Expect the Cowboys to make a roster move Friday or Saturday. RB Chauncey Washington, currently on practice squad, is expected to get promoted and play some special teams Sunday in Denver. The Cowboys have until midday Saturday to make the roster move official.

To make room for Washington, the Cowboys would have to release or put a player on injured reserve. Rookie Jason Williams, fully recovered from a left high ankle sprain, practiced Friday on the first-team punt unit and safety Marvin White moved to the scout team.

White could be in danger of getting cut, but the Cowboys could bring him back if he clears waivers.

"There's a chance he would play this week," Phillips said of Washington. "If he did, we hope it would mostly be on special teams. Joe [DeCamillis] has a role for him and knows what he can do in those situations if it were to be the case."

Left tackle Flozell Adams (shoulder) and running back Marion Barber (thigh) made appearances at the walkthrough practice Friday and should be ready to play Sunday.

To prepare for the crowd noise in Dever, the Cowboys had practiced with loud music the last two days but not on Friday.
