Mosley on Dan Campbell

moderator: Would really appreciate you explaining how signing Campbell for 1- or more if needed - more year would have had such a negative effect on the Cowboys' salary cap that he should have been released .If you agree with the move fine ,just please explain why in detail .Plus the Cowboys are planning on playing 2 tight ends @ the same time a lot this year & then we used a 2nd round pick on another TE that we could have used to draft someone to help our offensive line or maybe a speedy deep threat @ WR.

Matt Mosley: There was more to the Campbell thing than just money. The guy's body had taken an unbelievable beating and the Cowboys didn't know how much he had left. If he was the Dan Campbell of a couple of years ago, it might have been a different situation. Let's just say he wasn't offering Rob Petitti and Torrin Tucker a whole lot of help on all those sacks they were giving up. And I'm told that Campbell tore a muscle in his arm the other day while lifting weights. I'd say the Cowboys did the right thing cutting their losses with him.
