• Why was Petitti cut? It had more to do with the development of Pat McQuistan than anything else. But then Parcells added he needed an experienced right tackle in case Marc Colombo didn't pan out. Now, didn't Petitti start 16 games and play every snap there a year ago?

• Who returns punts? Jamaica Rector gets the call but Terence Newman should be ready. If he needs a fair catch, he's going with Patrick Crayton

• Who's the third QB this week? Crayton, who played the spot some in college, but then Parcells said Crayton might not be active this week.

Other notes:

Bradie James did not practice because he took a helmet to the ... let's not go there. It's a family blog. Parcells isn't sure James will practice Wednesday. Ryan Fowler is James' backup.

Flozell Adams practiced and did well according to the coach. He's not ready to say Adams will start but it looks that way.

Terrell Owens is gaving his workload increased and Owens said he's ready to play Sunday if all goes well with his leg during practice.
