Awaiting a meltdown? Not today

Two quarters, two minutes and 14 seconds into the third quarter and I finally caught my first pass. Earlier in the first half it was a different story and I didn't have a smile on my face.
Eli [Manning] and the Giants came out firing, and [Tony] Romo and I had not connected on one pass yet. On the sideline there was still a calm about us and we weren't going to panic. We know we are a good team and our confidence was still intact. Sometimes I look into the stands and I can feel our fans glaring at me as though they were waiting for me to EXPLODE. Not happening, not today.
Then halftime rolled around and I went into the locker room feeling as though things were still going to work out. My teammates and coaches were telling me to hang in there, be patient, but really, deep inside there was a little fire brewing. You guys have seen me in the past when those little fires turn into infernos. It's never good, but not today.
Earlier my teammates and I talked about winning as a team and that was still in the back of my mind. Romo and our offense would take this time to regroup. So, I decided to take that fire and direct it at the Giants during the second half. That will be the norm this year, to take it out on the opposing team. Two touchdowns, three catches for 87 yards and a 45-35 win over the Giants, was a good start for the 2007 season.
Today, we play the Dolphins, who have an 0-1 record. That loss to the Redskins was a close game and I thought they had a chance to win. A team with that kind of record is usually a dangerous team. They are trying to get that first win and we are in the way.
Their fans want to win now, and I know the pressure is building for their new head coach Cam Cameron. He will have Pro Bowlers Zach Thomas, Joey Porter and Jason Taylor believing they will beat us. I am sure they have already had one of those players-only meetings to try and get everyone else believing it also.
We are the Dallas Cowboys, America's Team, so we will treat it as another home game. Hopefully, the first quarter will be filled with fireworks, and it won't start out like it did last week. They are professionals and a good team. I am sure they will win some games this season, and like I said earlier, NOT TODAY!
By the way, buy a T.O. touchdown towel at www.terrellowens.com. I guarantee you will be using it at our next home game on Sept. 30.
