The Sporting News has been running a series of position group rankings, and the latest one, listing groups of linebackers, has the Cowboys atop the NFC. Here's our own Jean-Jacques Taylor's assessment of Dallas' crew.
DeMarcus Ware and Greg Ellis form one of the league's best pass-rushing duos. On the outside, they get a lot of one-on-one matchups -- and win them. Bradie James is coming off an average year. Zach Thomas was signed for his leadership and playmaking ability.
The Seahawks, Bears, Bucs and Packers rounded out the NFC's Top 5. The Ravens, Chargers, Steelers, Jaguars and Patriots made up the AFC's Top 5.
Also, in case you're wondering, TSN positioned Ware as the NFC's top linebacker, with Shawne Merriman as his AFC counterpart.
