DMN Blog: Jerry doesn't apologize for cutting Glenn
Jerry said he understands why Roy Williams got so hot and bothered about Aaron Glenn getting cut and respects his Pro Bowl strong safety's opinion and passion. But Jerry made no apologies for letting Glenn go.
"We made our decisions based on the best players we could put on the field," Jerry said. "I have a lot of respect for Aaron Glenn. Boy, he really gave us a great two years. But I really want, ultimately, the guys who have the best chance of making plays. ... Sometimes just being in the right spot is not enough. We like to have some people that cause stuff to happen."
At this point in his career, Glenn was at least as valuable in the locker room as he was on the field. Jones did not mention how much the Cowboys could miss the 14-year veteran's leadership.
